The Alternatives to Abortion Program offers comprehensive support when it’s needed most, connecting you with resources for carrying to term, parenting, or learning more about adoption.

Frequently Asked Questions About A2A

Here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive.

Don’t see what you’re looking for? You can reach out anytime.

If you choose to carry your pregnancy to term, parenting and adoption are two paths to consider, and you don’t have to navigate either one alone. If you meet program qualifications, you may be eligible for free services.

We can connect you with support like parenting classes, childcare, adoption assistance, and more. Visit our “Find Support” page to explore local organizations that are ready to help.

Pregnancy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face it alone. If you’re eligible for the Alternatives to Abortion Program, you can start receiving free services that prioritize your health and well-being.

As you move forward, our providers will help you assess your needs for pregnancy and beyond. You’ll find support for housing, food, transportation, supplies, and more to help you feel confident and prepared.

You are eligible if you are a pregnant woman who:

  • Wants to carry your unborn child to term.
  • Is a United States resident who lives in Missouri.
  • Makes less than 185% of the federal poverty level.

Our provider network is here to support you from the moment you learn you’re pregnant, through each stage of pregnancy, and into your baby’s first year.

If you qualify for the program, you may receive help covering some childcare expenses, like co-pays and registration fees. Connect with your nearest provider to find out what support is available.

If you’re not in Missouri, know that there’s still support available. Other states have similar programs to help women during pregnancy and beyond, and national organizations can connect you with nearby resources.

Your local pregnancy center or your state’s health department is a great place to start. You’re not alone—caring people and programs are ready to walk alongside you, wherever you are.

If you’re pregnant and feeling unsafe, you deserve immediate support. Prioritize your safety by connecting with help now, and call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE or text “start” to 88788.

Our providers can also help with practical needs like emergency housing, mental health support, and more. Assistance is available regardless of your circumstances.
